1)Do not under any circumstances open the door before completing steps #2-3
2) Before opening door flick light on and off at least 3 times
3) Wait for a second while all the wildlife that has come in through the open roof scurries about into their various hiding places
4) Open the door very slowly while making as much noise as possible
5) Peek around the corner of the partially opened door to see if the giant tarantula who lives in the bathroom is in a suitable position to be avoided while carrying of whatever business you have come to the bathroom to carry out in the first place.
6) Say thank you to the tarantula for respecting your personal space and leave quietly so that all the bats, lizards, snakes and other things that go bump in the night can move back in.
** N.B** Don’t kill the tarantula because he was there before you and has a happy little life within the little microcosm of your bathroom. Yes, he may be giant and hairy and have big enough eyes that you can see them all staring at you from across the room but as long as he respect the boundaries you’ve set for him the two of you can live happily ever after together. Plus he only comes out at night so you only have to deal with him for 12 hrs of the day.
Cheers from where the wild things are…
