Baby Baby Baby OH! Baby Baby Baby NO!

Waiting for a baby to be born is really annoying! Seriously the mysteries of the human body are limitless. Today, after steady contractions for over 9 hours, me, Carrie and Grant all head to the hospital, bags packed ready to finally meet the creature that's been growing in Carrie's womb for the last 9+ months. We timed them, 6-10 mins apart and all sorts of other gross things (which if you've had a baby you will understand and if you haven't had a baby you probably don't want to know about) had happened that all the books say are a clear indication that it's time. So we're thinking Whoopee! Finally this thing is going to make it's grand entrance.
We get to the hospital, Carrie gets hooked up to the monitoring machine, I get sent to my lonely waiting room since stupid rules at Bumrungrad say noone but the dad can ever be in the room, and then we wait. Of course, the minute Carrie gets all hooked up, the contractions stop. After another half an hour a rather embarrased and disappointed looking Carrie emerges from the "labour prep" room and off we go back home again.
Why can't those freaking things just come out when they are supposed to? Instead, they refuse to come out of their warm little cave until they are wretched out by the doctor and just to make things more fun they kick and "pretend" they are ready to come out and then laugh in your face as you take a cab home from the hospital just as pregant as when you arrived.
Carrie's getting induced on Thursday since the little bean is running out of fluid and needs to be taken out whether it likes it or not. So, in the end little bean, the joke's on you!!!! HA!

Cheers from the waiting room
J
