This storm season is brought to you by the word "turbidity." What's that mean you ask? Well, please observe the difference between the glass on the right and the glass on the left. The glass on the left is what our water looked like before the "wrath of god storm of the century" hit Vancouver, the glass on the right is what it looked like after. Because of all the wind and rain and stuff there were a bunch of landslides into the watershed that feeds 2 million people in the vancouver area and stirred it all up and made it...you got it "turbid". So what did that mean for us? A 12 day boil water advisory. That's right, Canada's third largest city made 2 million people boil their water for 12 freaking days! No drinking it, no washing your veggies in it, don't even brush your teeth with it! So as people fought and clawed each other's eyes out at the local supermarket trying to score those last few crates of bottled water, we all patiently waited for "turbidity levels" to fall so we could make use of our taps again. You can't really tell from the photo but the water wasn't just foggy, it was more of a yellow creamy color like old toilet water.
