Greetings from Thailand.

Made it safe and sound to that land of Tuk-Tuks, palm trees and cheap knock off fashions. It's been a bit of a whirlwind tour so far and I am happy to say that I am now resting my sunburned ass on the beaches of Ko Samui and have no intentions of uprooting it for at least another 3 days. Me and Nicki and Eric are staying at a nice little bungalow on Lamai beach that comes with a beach side pool, hot tub and restaurant for a measly 5bucks a peice per night. Can't go wrong.

Ko Samui is a welcome change from the high paced streets of Bangkok where we spent that last few nights. I was pretty much Bangkok'd out by the time me, Eric and Nicki stepped into our second class fan sleeper car (along with like 40 Thais) for our 13 hours train ride down to the south. As all things tend to go on these types of fly by the seat of your pants vacations, the train ride proved to be very interesting indeed. We ended up sitting in what I believe was a closet getting drunk with the train staff who were dutifully doing their job. Of course they managed to get us to buy most of their beer but we decided to look at it as an "entertainment surcharge" and entertaining it was. Who would have thought that the staff could work so well after having downed 6 beers and a bottle of whiskey. But they did, and with a smile of their faces all along. Surprisingly the sleeper was confortable even though we did it thai style because the more luxurious tourist oriented cars were sold out. Thanks to Ed (I think that was what he wanted us to call him) our drinking buddy/train personnel from the night before, we were all up in time and got off the train without at hitch, our bags intact and all the valuables we boarded with still snuggly in our bags. An hour bus ride, an hour ferry ride and a 20 minute truck/bus/tuk tuk type thing ride later and we were lapping up the sun.

All well that ends well.

I'm tired of typing.

Next entry .... Patpong's flying vagina bananas and the woman who wanted me to pay her for it.
